ITA Educational and Culinary Training at HEB conducted by ALMA’s Academy
On July 21st – 23rd HEB hosted a 3-day session geared towards the expansion of their employees’ knowledge of the Italian Food System.
These classes were composed of a graceful combination of history, cooking demonstrations and tastings and designed to link with HEB’s current selection of Italian products and its history to Italian culture. Currently, the three focus areas are pastas, oils & vinegars, and specialty cheeses and meats. Most presentations highlighted the difference between Authentic Italian and Italian "sounding" products, and raising awareness of quality in taste and value of authentic Italian products.
The training sessions were filled with valuable information on Authentic Italian food and the excitement of the participants who, at the end of the sessions, shared their enthusiastic feedback of being empowered by useful knowledge that can be applied to better serve HEB’s customers.
