enjoy european quality 2019
Enjoy European Quality is a project co-funded by the European Community and promoted by the Consorzio per la Tutela dell’ASTI Docg, by Istituto Valorizzazione Salumi Italiani – IVSI (Institute for the valorization of Italian deli meats), and the Consorzio Tutela Provolone Valpadana.
On behalf of the Consorzio per la Tutela dell’ASTI Docg, by Istituto Valorizzazione Salumi Italiani – IVSI (Institute for the valorization of Italian deli meats), and the Consorzio Tutela Provolone Valpadana the Italian Trade Agency Chicago promoted the Enjoy European Quality 2019 event which took place on Wednesday, January 16th at Gibsons Italia Rooftop in Chicago, Illinois.
The first part of the event was dedicated to B2B meetings. During morning B2B sessions, major US retailers , importers, and distributers met with the leading Italian companies that provided authentic products specifically for this event. Some of the Italian companies came to the US for the first time.
The B2B meeting followed by the Luncheon Conference. Guest speaker - Chef John Coletta (Quartino Restaurant Chicago), welcomed everyone and introduced each Italian delegate to the audience. Then, Mr. Francesco Pizzagalli - president of the IVSI (Italian Institute for the Development of Meat Products Industry), spoke about cured meats and their importance in the Italian culture. Later, Mrs. Ornella Franco from the Consortium of Asti DOCG Wines introduced wines which were served at the event.
Finally, guests enjoyed tasting of authentic Italian food and wines prepared by Chef Jose Sosa (Gibsons Italia Chicago) restaurant.
